Helping our clients through tough times hero

‘Unprecedented times’, ‘unchartered waters, ‘difficult period’ – there’s no sugar-coating the fact we’re all facing challenges right now. So, we thought it would be good to share some positive news about what we’ve been up to during lockdown.

As a Nottingham-based firm, we’re incredibly proud of our Nottingham roots and have several sports fans within our team, none more so than for the beautiful game of rugby. As such, we’re delighted to announce we’ve renewed our sponsorship of Nottingham Rugby for the 2020-21 season. With the recent RFU funding cuts to championship rugby, we felt it vital to continue our sponsorship, even more so now with the impact of the current COVID-19 crisis which has led to uncertainty around the future of the club.

Steve Smith, COO of Nottingham Rugby, said:

We’re incredibly pleased that Distinction will be supporting the club next season. They have helped us for many years to develop the website and help with our digital marketing strategy, so they’re a vital piece of the jigsaw for Nottingham Rugby. During this difficult period, it’s great to see that they are still able to operate, and help clients such as ourselves, but other clients too.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we’ve been helping our clients react quickly to the everchanging situation by delivering digital solutions to meet their business needs. In just two weeks we launched a microsite containing dedicated COVID-19 resources for the affiliates of a leading membership organisation in the healthcare sector.

We’ve also joined forces with Factor 50, Yoti and Experian to launch www.helpmystreet.org, an online hub that brings together community volunteers and those who need help by making it simple, safe and effective for everyone. You can sign up as a Street Champion or a Helper to support vulnerable people local to you shelter safely at home during the COVID-19 crisis.

With marketing teams around the world adapting to the new ‘normal’, we joined up with Press for Attention on a webinar recently to provide practical advice for marketeers on how to improve their web and media presence now so they’re on the front foot when it comes to marketing in recovery.

James Bloor, Head of Growth, said:

Our culture at Distinction has always encouraged work from home days so in that respect our team is used to working remotely, so delivering for our clients hasn’t changed in that sense.

It isn’t business as usual though and we’re working closely with the team and our clients to help them through this situation in every way we can – their mental and physical wellbeing is paramount.

I’m proud of the way our team has stepped up to deliver crucial services to our clients so rapidly. It’s a challenging time for us all but seeing people rallying together in every way is helping us all get through this.

Renewing our sponsorship of Nottingham Rugby felt like the right thing to do and we wish the club and all of our clients the very best now and for the future.

Last month we were delighted to hear we’d won the Kentico Site of the Year Awards 2019 for the healthcare category for www.bluebirdcare.co.uk. We’re proud to work with Bluebird Care, one of the top homecare companies in the UK, whose community of care assistants and homecare customers are facing incredibly difficult challenges right now. So, whilst winning the award is a fantastic achievement for our team, it’s also the perfect moment to say thank you to our care workers and to shine the light on the good work Bluebird Care is doing to support the care community.

Bluebird Care is the fastest growing care franchise in the UK with experience in franchising and care provision not to be found elsewhere. As a leading provider they deliver 20,000 care visits a day. There are almost 2million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces, and at the moment they are on the front-line supporting some of the most vulnerable people through one of the biggest crises our generation will face in its lifetime.

To help provide financial aid to those working in care who need it, Bluebird Care’s network of franchise owners is supporting the Care Workers Charity COVID-19 Emergency Fund.

If you would like to donate to the Care Workers Charity COVID-19 Emergency Fund, you can visit their JustGiving site here.

We’re offering digital marketing advice free of charge during the COVID-19 crisis. Please get in touch if you think we can help.
